A tradition made personal
What is Gyotaku?
Gyotaku is the Japanese art of making an impression directly from a fish. A light layer of ink and a gentle press of cloth capture its shape, scales and fins. The fish itself becomes the subject and the printing surface.
Your first print starts here.
You don’t need an art background. Prepare your fish, apply the ink, place the cloth and press gently. Lift it away to reveal an impression with its own character. Follow our full guide for preparation, printing and cleanup.

From your catch to your wall.
Every print carries the details of a particular fish and the memory of a particular day. Let it dry completely, choose a frame and give that story a place at home.
